The SIP Eastern Citizen Center, a new landmark project for cultural and sports activities in SIP, came into operation on Aug 7. The project is expected to fuel the high-quality development of public services in the industrial park.

Located in the Shengpu Neighborhood Center in Shengpu Sub-district, the project boasts a total floor area of nearly 10,000 square meters, including the about 7,400-square-meter indoor and 1,700-square-meter outdoor spaces.

The center will benefit approximately 200,000 residents and 400 businesses in the surrounding areas, further upgrading SIP’s 15-minute cultural and sports convenience circle network.

The facility features comprehensive functions and diversified, people-oriented services. The second floor houses a public library, multi-purpose rehearsal halls, and standardized training rooms, offering regular public cultural services such as cultural promotion sessions, artistic performances, and public-benefit training.
The third floor includes a comprehensive gymnasium, the Shengpu Traditional Culture Experience Center, and a multi-function hall, equipped with basketball, badminton and table tennis courts for fitness activities.
Outdoor facilities include tennis courts and a five-a-side football pitch.

At the opening ceremony, SIP launched the demonstration program for public cultural co-creation and resource sharing. The program encompasses concerts, reading activities, theatrical shows, and urban experiences to enrich the supply of high-quality public cultural experiences and demonstrate SIP’s charm and vitality.
A “benefit package” worth RMB1 million was unveiled, comprising half-price admission for sport venues, public-benefit classes, regular reading activities, consumption coupons, and gifts.
In addition, the SIP Fitness Month was launched to celebrate the National Fitness Day that is annually observed across the country on Aug 8, with 34 free public sports programs, alongside over 20 science-based fitness activities.
