BrioHealth, an SIP-based company, recently launched its upgraded implantable left ventricular assist system, CH-VAD Plus, offering patients suffering heart failure a more convenient and safer therapeutic option.

As a pioneer in artificial heart technology in China, BrioHealth developed the CH-VAD, the country’s first fully magnetically ventricular assist system (VAD), in 2021. The system since then has saved over 1,000 heart failure patients worldwide.

The CH-VAD Plus was developed based on clinical feedback from users of the CH-VAD, with upgraded external system architecture, power management, and human-factor engineering.

Specifically, a built-in backup battery ensures uninterrupted operation if external power disconnects, while a lightweight single-battery daytime design reduces patient burden. New adapter-side audio and visual alarms address missed alerts during sleep, especially for elderly patients. These improvements enhance safety, convenience, and quality of life for users.
