Early this year, a passenger at Suzhou Railway Station suddenly fell in a faint. Through cardiopulmonary resuscitation and the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED), a life was ultimately saved. This AED that played a key role in this rescue came from Jousing Medical, a company in Suzhou Dushu Lake Sci-Edu Innovation District, SIP.

Since its founding, Jousing Medical has insisted on full-chain independent research and development. It now owns more than 70 patents for AEDs. Its products, developed based on a domestic cardiac rhythm sample database, boast low-energy biphasic waveform defibrillation technology, with a first defibrillation success rate of 98%.

The company’s products have obtained the EU MDR certification and the Red Dot Design Award, and have entered overseas markets such as Europe and Southeast Asia.

Moreover, based on its self-developed JOUnetAED management platform, the company has linked its device data into the 120 dispatch systems of more than 50 cities across China, enabling rapid coordination between devices and social emergency rescue resources. It can also provide early cardiac safety management and warning services, and has built a three-level training system integrating science popularization, certification and practices.

Statistics show that 100,000 AEDs are now in use nationwide, and the company’s market share in the first quarter of this year reached 45.91%.
