The Suzhou Museum of Contemporary Art (Suzhou MoCA) in SIP is adding a cultural touch to Jinji Lake’s night scene by extending its opening hours to 9 p.m. every Friday and Saturday. As evening falls, visitors stream out of the nearby metro station, with some heading to the lakeside and others turning into the museum at No. 99 You’an Street.

       “It used to be just dining, strolling and fountain shows. Now we can also enjoy exhibitions and feel the artistic vibe of the area,” said a local resident visiting with her child.

Unlike other museums that only open at night on holidays, the Suzhou MoCA has made the evening tours a weekly fixture. Moreover, from 6 p.m., 50 limited postcards are given away at Hall 5 every evening. On September 11, 12, 18 and 19, special 20-minute guided tours are offered from 7 p.m. to 7:20 p.m., with no reservation required.
