This summer, SIP is rolling out a packed lineup of performing arts, reading events, and outdoor carnivals, filling the long summer vacation with a colorful cultural feast.

The Suzhou Symphony Orchestra brought its “Dream of the Red Chamber: Resonance” to Suzhou audience for the first time. The show was created to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the 1987 version of TV series “Dream of the Red Chamber”.

The Suzhou Olympic Sports Centre hosts concerts by renowned singers frequently, while the theatres at Suzhou Culture and Arts Centre, respectively dedicated to comedy, traditional Chinese performing arts, suspense and magic, regularly update their performance rosters.

In addition, diverse concerts are held at Jinji Lake shore and other venues every weekend.

The Jiangsu Book Fair scheduled at Suzhou International Expo Centre from July 2 to 6 and the 16th SIP Reading Season are expected to boost the public’s zest for reading. SIP Public Cultural Center has planned a series of events including book exhibitions and learning tours for youngsters.

The “Rollin’ in the Sky” exhibition, boasting elements from Rollin’ Wild, a series of animated clips featuring spherical animals in a humorous and surreal world, is underway. From the specially decorated capsules of the 128-meter-high “Suzhou Eye” Ferris wheel, the riders can enjoy panoramic views of the skyline of Suzhou, the beautiful Jinji Lake and its surroundings, as well as adorable installations of Rollin’ Wild characters.

The 2nd Lakeside Drama Festival of the Suzhou Yangcheng Peninsula Theme Park encompasses a variety of traditional Chinese operas performed during 45 days amid the theme park’s regular signature performances, amusements and fireworks shows.
